Bit Torrent is a file sharing peer-to-peer (P2P) communications protocol. Bit Torrent is a way to distribute large amounts of data widely without the original distributor incurring the full cost of hardware, hosting and bandwidth resources. Instead, when data is distributed using the Bit Torrent protocol, and recipients each supply data to the most recent recipients, and reduce the cost and burden on any particular source, providing redundancy against system problems, and reduce dependence on the original distributor.
